Olympic Games of Girls
mergaičių Olimpijos žaidynės statusas T sritis Kūno kultūra ir sportas apibrėžtis Senovės Graikijoje dievų valdovės Heros garbei rengtos mergaičių sporto varžybos. Pasak padavimo, jas įsteigė Graikijos valdovo Enomajaus gražuolė dukra Hipodamija. Vienuose šaltiniuose aiškinama, kad mergaičių Olimpijos žaidynės buvo rengiamos kas 5 metai, kituose – kas 4 metai po Olimpijos žaidynių, dažniausiai rugsėjį. Mergaitės buvo skirstomos į tris amžiaus grupes. Varžydavosi po 16 dalyvių. Rungtis – 1 stadijo, sutrumpinto viena šeštąja dalimi, bėgimas. Bėgikės vilkėdavo tuniką iki kelių, bėgdavo palaidais plaukais, apnuogintu dešiniu petimi. Nugalėtojas apdovanodavo alyvmedžio šakelių vainiku ir aukojamos deivei Herai karvės dalimi. Joms dar būdavo suteikiama teisė pakabinti savo atvaizdą Heros šventykloje. atitikmenys: angl. Olympic Games of Girls vok.
